State Strategies to Increase Land Conservation and Recreational Access

A discussion of the 30×30 goal and detail how states can partner with non-profits to enhance land conservation and stewardship efforts that also provide recreational, economic and equity benefits.

The new Administration’s ambitious 30×30 goal to preserve 30% of land and water by 2030 to combat climate change complements the pledge of Confluence Accords states to support land conservation and stewardship to increase public outdoor recreation access. To examine the opportunities presented by this convergence, speakers from the Nature Conservancy will discuss the 30×30 goal and detail how states can partner with non-profits to enhance land conservation and stewardship efforts that also provide recreational, economic and equity benefits. The President and CEO of the Chesapeake Conservancy will discuss best practices and strategies adopted by Chesapeake Bay states, that committed to land conservation goals in the Bay Agreements aimed at improving water quality.
