Senior Policy Analyst
Homeland Security & Public Safety Division
Carl Amritt serves as a senior policy analyst for NGA Solutions: The Center for Best Practices Homeland Security & Public Safety division. His primary focus is state homeland security, emergency management, recovery and resiliency and public health preparedness.
Before joining NGA, Amritt worked at American University as the assistant director of global safety, charged with overseeing the emergency response planning efforts for three campuses abroad and protecting the health and security for more than 1,500 community members each year. Amritt brings tactical experience when responding to critical events and strategic from advising senior university leadership and his service on the U.S. Department of State’s Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC). He holds certifications from FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute and International Standards of Organization.
Amritt holds a master’s degree in public administration and bachelor’s in political science from American University, where he graduated with honors. Carl is originally from Florida and currently resides in Washington, D.C.
